Revised update

With further explanation, I have a better idea of what went on last night.  So it was on January 31, 2005 that a student at the University of Dakar was shot and killed by a police officer.  Last night, January 31, 2012 a student at the same university was run over and killed by a police car.  It is pretty upsetting and the university students are not happy.

  3. I am so curious about the protesting - I assume people are angry about the current President being allowed to run for a 3rd term when that is not the law - or they changed the law to keep him in power. Can you imagine what would happen here?
Will elections be held when you are still there? I wonder if your family members vote...is it a fair and free election ...I would be intersted in what you find out...in the meantime you seem to be making good use of your time off from school. And - love the pictures.

    1. I hope my latest point clarified some stuff! As far as if my family votes goes...I'm not sure about the adults, but I asked Mohammad about it. It's the same here, voting age is 18. When I asked him if he was planning on voting, he said no. I guess the lines are really long and it's a very long process. I'll see what else I can find out, and keep the questions coming, I'll do the best I can to answer them!
